ROOMS BY KIKI

Eclectic interiors with secondhand finds

IMG_0183.JPG

In the summer before my junior year of college, I bought an 11-foot blue velvet sectional. That couch held up surprisingly well despite a couple years of potlucks, parties, and movie nights. When friends came over, they assumed we spent thousands of dollars on our couch and living room. The truth? I bought that couch for 50 bucks on Facebook Marketplace.

Since that couch, I have figured out how to style rooms almost entirely from thrifted items found locally. In a city like Los Angeles (where I'm based), there's already so much stuff out there. I think we can have beautiful rooms by repurposing the things that already exist. The end result is not only more unique and personal but also more sustainable.

I love creating beautiful rooms from what already exists. It may take more time, but I think it’s worth it.
